May…

“The world’s favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May.”

–  Edwin Way Teale

May… oh May, you are the most wonderful month.  The earth is smiling with flowers! The brightest, greenest, newest leaves hang limply from the horsechestnut, whilst tall flower spikes adorn it’s branches. Cow parsley everywhere.  I saw my first Swallow the other day.. they are back for the summer, swooping and soaring over the grasslands.

Oh the endless possibilities that May brings… picnics in the park after school, warmer evenings, holidays, bike rides in the woods…. I love you May…

Well yesterday was fun wasn’t it?  I made 8 May Day posies, left them on door knobs and the doors steps of my friends and neighbours.  Such strong, wonderful women, each deserving a little May sunshine in their own right.  It was so much fun, sourcing the flowers, making them and delivering them.
Thank you to those who joined me.  Have a look on the previous post to link through to the lovely blogs featuring their own unique way of celebrating May Day.  If you haven’t made one yet and would like to, then please do!  This weekend!  Go, it will be a lovely surprise for someone.  Don’t forget to take an image and either tweet or IG it using the hastag #NITHMayDay.
I feel we have started our own modern day tradition… I hope that next year it will be bigger with everyone receiving a jar of May flowers.. now wouldn’t that be wonderful?
So here’s to an abundant and glorious May…
