Our lounge is small. But actually I like that. It’s a perfect little spot to cosy up in of an evening. In the winter it is especially lovely, with the log burner lit. We get all toasty and play with the fire.
Until recently we used to all sit on one big sofa, all squished together in a big family cuddle. But the boys are growing and we were in need of extra seating. Dan has always wanted a large wing back chair to sit in next to the fire. A proper gentleman’s chair, sturdy, made of a hard wearing fabric and good legs.
I always thought we would pick one up in an auction or junk shop, but could never decide on what we needed. I wanted clean lines, not too fussy, he wanted the shape, a wing back.
Then I spotted this beauty, the Victor, on the West Elm website (note this colour way is now not for sale). It was perfect. Modern yet classic. Clean lines, with a slight wing back and look at those buttons! Great legs and hard wearing fabric. We had to have it.
Now we all fight over who gets to sit in ‘throne’. It is a perfect size for all us individually, in our own unique way of relaxing. (think sideways lying like Rufus does!).
Thank you to West Elm for helping us fulfil our chair of dreams!
