Recently, I shared a list of Bucket List Destinations, containing places like India and the beaches of the Caribbean. But recently, we’ve looked at cities across the pond and found one place that might be of interest to parents planning family holidays.
Although more typically seen as an adult playground rather than a destination fit for the family. Vegas has always been a haven for holiday makers, and last year, they had a record-breaking 41 million people visit the city, according to statistics released by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Recently, the city has been seeing a great change as on-line gaming has begun to take revenues from land-based casinos. Unable to compete with the rapidly expanding selection of games and slots that can be played on desktop computers and even on mobile phones, Las Vegas casino’s begun offering a myriad of different services to their visitors to entice them to the city. From electric bike tours to indoor skydiving, there’s plenty of fun for the whole family to be had in the entertainment capital of the World.
Here are some things you can try in and around Vegas as a family:
1. Visit the Bellagio’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens
Among the most renowned casinos, the Bellagio doesn’t just offer pretty dancing fountains, but an educational trip through a beautiful conservatory as well.
2. Visit the Flamingo’s Wildlife Habitat
Staying true to its name, the Flamingo casino lets patrons see different species of birds, as well as get up close and personal to feed pelicans.
3. Try Ethel M’s Factory Tour
And of course, for those with a sweet tooth, Ethel M allows free tours of their factory, where you can watch candy being made and even get a few samples for yourselves!
