‘It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot
and the wind blows cold; when it’s summer in the light
and winter in the shade’ – Great Expectations
Yes this quote pretty much sums up March, those cold winds and bright sunshine can play havoc on our skin. This month I plan to scrub away the dry old skin from winter, and drench my body in rich, nourishing oils.
I’ve recently been using the range from Magic Organic Apothecary. MOA create natural skin care products, made in England, inspired by old herbal folklore and with a sprinkling of magic! As I am getting older my skin is changing becoming prone to dry patches and then sudden sweats (ladies it comes to us all). So I was intrigued to see how the Aphrodite facial oil would cope with these conditions!
MOA say ‘A magical blend for radiant skin; this easily absorbed beautifying facial oil helps to smooth fine lines and ward off premature ageing with its nourishing rosehip oil base. Rosehip oil is rich in vitamin A, C and essential fatty acids, its natural skin regenerative properties have been revered in folklore over the centuries all across the globe’.
‘Enriched with precious Damask rose essential oil, especially helpful for dry, sensitive skin types prone to redness and blemishes. Organic yarrow essential oil helps to even skin tone, fragrant rose geranium balances and cleanses, whilst marshmallow extract gently soothes and calms the skin.’
I have been using it every night after cleansing, allowing the oil to soak into my skin before bed. The result, my skin looks softer and plumper, with a glow. I’m converted!
To cleanse my skin I have been using the miracle green balm daily cleansing ritual. Smoothing a small amount of the balm on to my face, working it in with my finger tips.
MOA say: ‘Inside each Daily Cleansing Ritual you’ll find a super-soft bamboo face cloth and a 50ml pot of The Green Balm. Ideal for oily, acne skin as well as dry and sensitive skin types. The Green Balm is safe to use around the eyes and removes caked-on eye makeup in the blink of an eye! This easy-peasy daily skin treatment leaves the skin balanced and glowing… magic!’
It feels luxurious, wiping off the oil with a soft warm cloth. All traces of make up is removed all at once, with zero chemicals.
Finally – the Fortifying green balm lotion has been a godsend. Rich in skin toning, refreshing peppermint, detoxifying fennel, calming, relaxing fir needle and sweet birch it has eased my aching muscles from all that gardening and after my workouts.
MOA say: ‘De-stress the mind and relieve aches and pains with this concentrated, revitalising, magical bath potion. An invigorating herbal blend, sure to put the spring back in your step after a long, tiring day.’
