Travel // A weekend in Brussels…

Cafe Chyl

This time next week, Dan and I will be on the Eurostar to Brussels.  A little weekend away for the two of us – yay!  We have been invited by the tourist board of Brussels to show this City as a great City break destination and how it compares to it’s neighbouring big guns, Paris and Amsterdam.

I’ve being doing a little research on places to visit, great coffee houses, restaurants and shops and have come across some ‘must visit’ places.

First up is CHYLChange Your Lifestyle, Cherish your life.  A cafe, shop, beauty rooms and guest house all in one.  A place to really nurture your body and soul. I adore the plants hanging from the ceiling in the cafe and I may even treat myself to a little something in the wellness centre when I am there.

Next is Kingkong – an oasis in the City, it will feel like I have stepped into a tiny jungle. The walls are covered in plants and mirrors, I can’t wait to photograph it! Delicious and simple Peruvian food on the menu, I can’t wait to try!

Shopping wise, well there are two flea/antiques markets held every weekend.  One at Place du Grand Sabon and the other at Place du Jeu de Balle – both open all day on Saurday selling a mixture of vintage clothing, antiques and collectables – heaven!

So those are a few places I am definitely heading to.

Do you know Brussels?  Please comment below with your travel tips, I am all for finding new places.

  • There is a beautiful art nouveau restaurant we went to. Can’t remember the name but it was gorgeous! Sure a Google search will find it, enjoy!
