I know, the summer holidays are already nearly three weeks in, but I’ve been in France don’t you know!? Each summer, I love to sit down with the boys and discuss things we want to do in their summer break. It can be grand, wild adventures to eating peaches in the park. We see our summer as a chance to reconnect, to let go of the busy and rushed, and enjoy those long endless days.
So this years Summer Manifesto goes something like this:
So much fun – so little time! But we shall and will complete all of these. Some of course have already been ticked off in France, like the croissants, snorkelling and the kayaking. But others, well, festivals – we have two coming up this summer – back to back! I need some vitamins!
First up is Just So Festival in Cheshire (19th – 21st August). We are really excited about this, as last year we couldn’t go, so I sent along my brother in law and family as reporters. You can read all about Just So Festival 2015 here. This year we get to spend the weekend with them at the festival too! Rufus and his cousin Ruby are like two peas in a pod – and I am sure we will have much laughter watching them roll around the festival.
Then, on the 22nd August, we head over to Wales and the Cardiganshire coast to Fforest Gather for a week long summer camp. I love Fforest! LOVE IT! So a week camping there, listening to inspiring talks, taking part in workshops and dancing to live music – there is nothing better.
In total 10 days under canvas, it’s going to be epic!
The other things we can do here in Bristol, all except for the train ride to the Lego store – which is in Cardiff. They don’t know about this one yet, but I really want them to get on and practice their joined up hand-writing and read some books before we go there for a surprise treat.
So yes, this is our summer. What are your plans? Any I need to add to mine? Leave me a comment.
