Days of sandals and bare legs are numbered, we’ve turned the circle, fully into Autumn. Out of the sunshine there is a slight chill in the air, and although recently we have been enjoying fabulous weather, sadly it won’t last. Magazines. TV ad’s and even Instagram are telling us to get buying our winter clothes, but I am after a wardrobe that I can wear for years to come – no longer after a quick fashion fix, but looking to invest in some key pieces, that will look great and wear well.
Enter some key pieces:
That denim skirt from Toast has my name all over it. Soft indigo, with deep pockets – I can see me wearing that year in year out, styled up or down. It’s a thing of beauty, and I need it! In fact the lastest AW range from Toast is fabulous, they do do that ‘simple-pared-back-cosy’ look so well.
ARV clothing is a Norwegian clothing brand, think sharp cuts and minimal design. I fell in love with their Kim jacket, just the right amount of fluff for a winter coat, without feeling like a polar bear or picking fur out of your teeth.
Boden is usually all about the bright, but as you can see I am not a particularly colourful clothing type of gal. Bright colours and bold patterns are beautiful, but not for me, I feel too self conscious! But, saying all that, I do love Boden, and have found a couple of pieces that suit me to a T. The Michelle popover in Indigo stripe has a feel of India or the far east about it. Great tailoring and cut, it has fast become my favourite thing to wear.
Ethically minded, Braintree Clothing has a range made from hemp and bamboo. I love this check Inga Leesa top – team it with the Toast denim skirt – win!
All I need now is some winter shoes / boots and tights and I’m cold weather ready!
Is your wardrobe ready for the new season? I’ve put my summer clothes away, and bought out my jumpers and coats!
