In a desperate attempt to not feel the crowding gloom of the Trump presidency and the last of the autumn days, Dan and I took a walk around one of our favourite parts of Bristol, soaking in the regency buildings, independent shops and golden autumn colour.
It also gave me a chance to kick up the leaves in my new Seven Boot Lane boots. This will be my third year in a pair of their boots. Winter wouldn’t be the same without them. The latest range sees me opting for a pair of boots with a heel, something that is new to me, I have been a flats only girl for so long.
Not that high, but high enough. These are the GRACE in brown suede, with a 5cm wood block heel and a zip up the back. They cool, comfortable and perfect for these chilly but sunny Autumn days. They look great with a dress and tights, but equally great with a pair of cut off cropped jeans, and a cashmere jumper.
Walking in the sunshine, we stopped off at a few of our favourite shops. The florist which has an amazing display of succulents. The junk shop, which has a new selection of Turkish rugs and old wood sledges for winter.
Lunch was at the Clifton institution; Primrose Cafe followed by a coffee at Spice + Cole. A quick mooch around the mecca of stationery, Papersmiths. Before buying some squashes for supper at Reg the Veg green grocers.
Feeling so much better for some fresh air and the sun on our faces, we headed back home to pick the kids up from School.
