I’m green fingered through and through. Loving plants of all manner, from spiky cacti to blousey roses to rows of cabbages. All plants bring out a nurturing passion in me, a yearn to make a beautiful green oasis even in my small back garden.
I get my passion for gardening from my mum, and her from my nan, and her from Elsie, my great grandmother. It’s an inherited green gene, well I like to think of it like that anyway.
Every year I take my parents to the Three Counties Showground in Worcester for the RHS Malvern Spring show. It’s a highlight of our gardening year, a chance to see new plants, purchase some ‘must haves’ and generally a fantastic day out.
This year I am on the look out for some new plants for my back yard, an aeonium or two, perhaps a hydrangea and white foxgloves (always). I may bump into Monty Don, see how he gardens, learn from the best nurseries in the business and eat delicious street food in the food court.
My parents have recently installed a pond in their garden, which is practically the same size as my back yard, so I am sure they will be looking for advice on water loving plants and native trees to add to this area.
Malvern has it all. A dramatic location at the foot of the beautiful Malvern hills, show gardens, stalls, nurseries, demonstrations and more. We can’t wait to go!
