This summer I am all over rattan chairs for the garden.  Especially these, above – looks gorgeous doesn’t it?  I found this image via Pinterest and immediately fell in love, this could be my own garden, right?.

I actually have a rattan / wicker cane chair (whatever they are called) from my childhood, it was given to me by my parents in the 80’s for one of my birthdays… I still have it, but I am reluctant to leave it out in the garden to be subjected to the British climate.  So I’m on the look out for alternatives…

Here is what I found…

rattan chairs
1. Mina Chair, TikaMoon £149 // 2. Petunia Chair, Maison du Monde £96 // 3. Malu Armchair, La Redoute £149 // 4. Low Chair, Cox & Cox £250

All these chairs would look amazing in the garden, but equally in the house.  Bedroom, office or dining space.  Versatile and oh so on trend.

Do you love the rattan trend, or is it a bit too boho for you? Please leave a comment below to tell me your thoughts.

  • These are so rustic and wonderful; looking at them and thinking of the hoard of white plastic sun-chairs in my garage makes me tear up a little! It’s so good to encorporate wood into garden furniture, even though plastic may be wipe-clean and far, far cheaper. If you can afford it, it’s important to try and get back to nature in some small way, and we can do that by paying attention to the materials we’re using, and exercising a little more love and care because these pieces aren’t dispensible.
