If you are wanting to shake things up a bit at home, shrug off the dull winter blues – but without breaking the bank or fully redecorating, might I suggest updating your art. Artwork needn’t be expensive nor a permanent fixture in your home. I love to chop and change my prints over regularly, it helps me get that changing rooms fix, without annoying Dan with the whole redesign.
So, what are my favourite affordable prints on the market at the moment. Well, you need to head to The Poster Club or Desenio…. both have a wonderful range of cool, affordable prints and they even do frames too.
THE POSTER CLUB is a Copenhagen-based online store offering an unique curated selection of high quality posters and art prints from both upcoming and established artists.
Their inspiration mainly comes from the trends in Scandinavian lifestyle, fashion and interior design. Their collection comprises of black and white drawings, to abstract art prints and edgy photo art.
Here are some of my favourite:
This beautiful black and white figurative print is perfect for any room. I adore Copenhagen based LouLou Avenue’s work. Distinctly feminine, her prints are available at The Poster Club.
The design of the print is inspired by graphic and organic shapes created by contrasting colours. It is a collage of different papers and comes in a black and white. Atelier Cph is known for its graphic motifs and varying shapes and colors – ‘Object Blanc No 26’ is no exception.
Former fashion designer Malene Birger has launched a new collection of six art prints in collaboration with and exclusively for THE POSTER CLUB.
For decades art has been an integrated and important part of Malene Birger’s life and work. She is a dedicated and passionate artist and art collector. Creativity is her driving force. Painting, graphic design and visual arts play a vital role in her work and style.
Art print by Hein Studio exclusively for THE POSTER CLUB. A wise man once told me ´don’t put your identity into beauty, beauty fades. Put your mark on life, and it could last lifetimes´.
I’ve used Desenio for art updates time and time again. Prints arrive in speedy time, and I’m always satisfied with the quality. Desenio was founded in 2010 in Stockholm, but now have an online presence in 33 countries (so UK is shipped from the UK). At Desenio, you will find Scandinavia’s widest range of posters along with frames, hangers, picture ledges and clips.
I love how they give inspiration on creating a gallery wall – and pairing art together, which I find so difficult to do.
Here are some of my favourites.
Eagle eyes will have noticed that I have the faces print in my bedroom, it looks wonderful in the oak frame against my pale stone coloured walls. Here it has been styled in a black frame along side a photographic print of palm trees – proving how you frame a print can dramatically change it’s mood.
These two could be right at home in a lounge or bedroom. Soothing tones and minimal design.
Green is a huge spring trend. You will be seeing it in both interiors and in high street fashion. Get ahead of the curve with these lovely sage green prints.
I hope you like my selection. Which would you choose to hang on your walls?
n.b. this post has not in anyway been sponsored nor have I been asked to write about these two brands.
