I have been a fan of William Morris it seems like forever. I goes against everything I love about interiors, usually opting of clean, minimal spaces, clutter-less, open. Yet, Morris’ floral designs really speak to me, I suppose it’s his love of nature, colour and complete abundance that is so wonderful.
Morris & Co have recently collaborated with the letterbox flower company, Bloom & Wild – launching 3 stunning floral displays which compliment 3 of Morris’ iconic designs. I couldn’t wait to see what they were like.
Bloom & Wild sent me The Bramble, a gloriously vibrant display of pinks inspired by the Arbutus design. Arbutus is one of Morris & Co.’s most-iconic prints. And we love it for so many reasons. One being that it was designed in 1913 by one of Morris & Co.’s only female artists at the time, Kathleen Kersey.
Reminiscent of a crisp autumnal walk. To capture that spirit, the bouquet with hypericum berries, pink roses and fresh-smelling eucalyptus.
The beautiful box arrived through the letterbox, and I eagerly unwrapped the stems, carefully unfurling the petals and slicing the stems to condition them ready to arrange. Using a simple pot, I placed a floristry frog in the bottom to take the stems and so they stood where I wanted them.
I absolutely love this nod to Autumn in my lounge. Such a vibrant pop of pink in the corner. And the box, is so pretty, it will be hard to throw it away!
These Morris & CO / Bloom & Wild collaboration limited edition flowers are a perfect gift for anyone who loves nature, the seasons, flowers and of course Morris!
