SISTERHOOD // The day continues…

Time for another instalment of the SISTERHOOD weekend.  You may remember in my last post, last week, I left you hanging after the amazing floral workshop with Erin.  So after we had arranged, adorned and had a blissful few hours playing with British grown blooms, we headed to the warm inside and a session with Sas Petherick. I couldn’t believe it when Sas emailed me to offer a workshop for SISTERHOOD. I had heard about her amazing workshops through other

Seasonal Rituals // Summer Solstice…

“I know a bank where the wild thyme blows, Where the Oxslips and the nodding Violet grows, Quite over-canopied with luscious Woodbine, With sweet musk-rose and with Eglantine.” A Midsummer Night’s Dream – William Shakespeare. *** Mid-Summer is here… the longest day, where the sun reigns. We love to celebrate with a special feast. Usually outside, cooked over a fire, but as today is a seriously miserable day here in Bristol, I shall be setting our dining table for

SISTERHOOD // reliving the memories…

Life has been insanely busy this past month.  I am sorry this space has been a little neglected, but I intend to remedy this by sharing with you the most dreamy weekend ever; SISTERHOOD. It seems like a distant dream, yet when editing these images the memories came flooding back.  With mist filled hazy conversations, candle light and blowsy floral displays.  SISTERHOOD was most certainly a place for the tender hearted, for moments cherished and secret stories told. I believe

Travel // Dimpsey Shepherds Hut, Blackdown Hills…

The Dimpsey is unlike any ‘glamping’ site I have ever stayed at.  Most shepherds huts that are set up for a weekend retreat tend to have a minimal look, just the bed and a log burner with little ‘mod cons’ inside. Don’t get me wrong I do like minimal, but sometimes an en-suite is was what I really need when it comes to holidaying in a field. The Dimpsey has it all. Beautiful location, set on a working small holding

Sisterhood // it is all in the details…

So, Sisterhood Camp 2016 was last weekend. I am still on cloud 9.  Those few days spent with brilliantly creative, smart, funny women has changed me forever.  No joke. I do actually feel lighter, dreamier, less stressed and more in-tune with myself, more than I have felt in a long long time. Sisterhood was a long haul in the lead up to last weekend, not only was it myself beavering away at home, but my brilliant team of women who

Craft the life // May Instagram favourite…

Instagram is and will always be a huge source of inspiration for me.  I love how, by following hashtags or threads I can stumble across brilliant people living the life I would want for myself.  Living the dream! Crafting the life. One such person is @woandwecollection. Olivier Abry is based in deep France, that alone makes me all wistful.  That plus the fact he has a studio of dreams, an old Renault 4 in the yard and a home that had me

SISTERHOOD // count down four days…

Four days to go!  FOUR! The past few months have been leading up to this weekend, SISTERHOOD camp 2016.  I am feeling a mix of excitement and exhaustion, but it’s going to be so so good! This year we are heading over to Fforest in West Wales, to their Manorafon site close to the beach.  Fforest is the perfect place for SISTERHOOD, with masses of space for us all to sleep in comfortably, barns for us to use for workshops

Travel // The Good Life Experience, ticket giveaway!

This September, we’ll be eeking out one last family weekend before the kids settle into a new school year.  The Good Life Experience is now in its third year.  You may remember last years post. Barely a week passes without mention of a story or memory from one of the previous festivals pops up in our family conversations.  That time we watched that guy skin a rabbit.  That time Tomasina Miers passed us a black Mexican chilli to sniff.  That
