Last Friday, we left the boys with their Grandparents and travelled to the Cotswolds for an overnight treat at the newly opened Artist Residence hotel. Passing through honey coloured villages in the traditional Cotswold stone we reached the village of South Leigh, Oxfordshire. The hotel is small and cosy, situated in a thatched country pub. With only 5 rooms in total, you really feel like you are hiding away from the world at a country retreat. Surrounded by countryside for
Last month, I visited Skåne in southern Sweden along with a small group of other influencers – Sarah Akwisombe, Abi of These Four Walls and Kimberly of Swoon Worthy. The trip was hosted by Visit Sweden and Visit Skåne, with the aim to share the design aspects of this little discovered region of Sweden. I knew I would love Sweden, but I hadn’t expected to fall in love with it. Especially Wanås Estate (pronounced Vanoos). I almost sobbed when it was time to leave this wonderful place. A
Yesterday was my birthday, I was woken by three smiling faces, two hand made birthday cards, a bunch of pink peonies and a cup of tea in bed. Bliss. This is how birthdays look like when you are mama, well if you are lucky anyway. No more waking with a hangover from too many tequila shots or a wild weekend away somewhere. No, this is 46, happy, with two boys and one brilliant guy. I’m not good at birthdays to
Landing, I was hit full blast with scent and heat of this ancient City. All feelings of apprehension faded as I walk the medieval medina with Emma, in search of her apartment. It was late, dark, but the souk was alive, full of busy, crazy, manic. I had always longed to visit this place, many moons ago when I was a young traveller, it was on my never ending list of places to explore, but never managed to find my
Last month, Dan and I are were invited to spend 24 hours deep in the Cotswolds with Mr & Mrs Smith, the boutique hotel in question was the gorgeously stunning Thyme at Southrop. Driving through leafy lanes and pretty Farrow & Ball painted cottages, this part of the world is enchanting. We couldn’t wait to start relaxing, Smith style. Mr & Mrs Smith were celebrating their ‘up all night’ campaign, showing the best that they can offer worldwide, by asking a
Last week I gathered some of my favourite ladies together to try out the new breakfast menu at No 131, Cheltenham. I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend a morning eating great food in such beautiful surroundings – with my best gals?
A really great hotel is truly hard to find. One that is a beautiful, doesn’t give up when it comes to customer service and comfort. And of course it has to be in a brilliant location and look fabulous too. It’s not to much to ask now is it? We have stayed in many hotels this year, from countryside retreats to city pads. Here are our top three:
Cheltenham is not my usual place to visit for a day trip, I normally prefer a train ride to Bath. But yesterday I took the 40min journey from Bristol temple meads to Cheltenham Spa. The ride was easy, the walk from the train station to Montpellier Chapter hotel was even lovelier, discovering gorgeous Georgian houses bedecked in their Christmas attire. The purpose for my visit was to test out the new REN hot stone massage at the hotels spa. This
