What a gloriously sunny weekend. November has really gotten off to a fabulous start with it’s crisp sunny days and cold nights. I love it! Yesterday we decided to have ‘cook out’ and headed to a bay outside of Clevedon, on the river Severn. While the boys busied themselves climbing the rocks and discovering caves, Dan and I made camp and built the fire. We both love cooking outside in the colder months, there is something so primal about it.
Just a quick post to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!! Thank you for all your wonderful support over this past year, I fully appreciate your comments and social love for us and all that we do. School finishes today! Yes! Two weeks with my guys at home, we are all getting super excited!!! But, it also fills me with worry and dread, with the finishing off of my freelance work, and juggling entertaining my boys too. By now, I should have this situation sorted, Charlie is 10 and I’ve been freelancing now for 4 years. So this juggle during school holidays is always present. This Christmas I am planning a few ways of dealing with the

I love the wrapping of presents, a glass of mulled wine and a Christmas movie – it’s a lovely thing to do. This year I have decided I wanted a change from my usual Kraft paper wrapping. It’s everywhere now, and I must admit I am a bit bored of it, having wrapped my gifts in it for the past 4 years it’s time for a change. So I’ve been searching for alternatives, wanting something that has a rich warmth to

This weekend we lit our first fire of the season. I love the ritual of making a fire, scrunching of the paper (or making twists), stacking the kindling on top in a tipi shape, then lighting the paper from below, watching the flame roar upwards. We have a log burner in our lounge, A little treat with some redundancy money I received from a job that I hated, many years ago. I love how now our beautiful log burner brings
So here it is. Our advent Calendar for this year. Very different from last year. Small white boxes, sourced from Ebay, and printed out woodland creatures which I have stuck to the top of each box – to create a woodland scene. Mr Badger, Fox and Stag – join Father Christmas in a paired back monochrome scheme. I love it! Lou ArchellLou Archell, a writer, photographer, stylist and founder of Littlegreenshed.
