Lionheart // Issue 6…

LH6-COVERLionheart is an independent magazine with ROAR in its heart.

Lionheart is very special to me, not only was it founded by my pal and fellow SISTER Hels Martin, but it is wholly Bristolian – published in an old printers here in Bristol.  Hels is just about to release issue 6!  SIX issues of this brilliant magazine, she is awesome.  In her words below she describes what this issue is all about:

The Time issue.

Looking at time and how our view of it varies and is dictated to by the different time we are born, our choices/passions/ideals/whims that we follow – how that in turn impacts our perception of the speed of time and what we appreciate within those ticking seconds. As the White Rabbit said, one second can be forever.

Meet majestic humans such as Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge, telly star/author/designer Dawn O’Porter, Kate Stables from folk melody wonder This is the Kit, inspiring apothecary Amanda, in her barn filled with bottles, oceans of flowers and a huge suspended alembic. Then there’s Lara from the gorgeous Somerset-based Manor Farm Cottage Flowers, Anna Whitehouse aka Mother Pukka, a tour of a ‘weatherboard shack’ in Australia, natural dyeing and a recipe from Claire Thomson of The Five O’Clock Apron. Of course, we also have Olivia Purvis discussing style, Jess Furseth explores the seasons and a great and proud rowan tree in her Norwegian home, Victoria Haynes is on the treasure sourcing and Freya Hardy is back with notes to her daughters. Don’t forget the photography, the illustration – all hail the cover – and the whole lotta soul that goes into each and every issue.

Hope you love this one, LOVE IT!

I am so so proud of Hels. She is a total dude, mama and good egg!  I am just a bit gutted that I am not in this issue, but if you want to read what I contributed in Issue 2, 4 & 5, you can still buy a copy in the Lionheart shop.

Whilst you are there – you can buy the latest issue there too!

To celebrate the new issue, Hels is putting on a small event at The Forge, in Bristol. This will include a creative workshop – macrame and posy making – followed by a delicious feast. On top of this, as you leave, you will have in your clutches a goodie bag full of wonders from brands such as MOA and Essence and Alchemy, as well as your very own copy of Lionheart Magazine.

For details of the magazine launch event and to buy tickets – check out the event page.

Hope to see you there!
