Style | five comfy bras you need right now…

Last summer, after chatting with Gemma, The Quiet Heart during my acupuncture session, I took the decision to ditch my underwired bras.  I’d been complaining of a ‘fizzy’ feeling under my arm pits, and a pressure from where the wires dug in.  Worried that this might lead to something nasty, I decided to literally burn my bras and wear only soft organic cottons next to my skin.

Bralettes are your friend!  Seriously.  Soft, comfortable and supportive.  I have fairly large boobs, a size 38D in normal bra sizes, and my breasts are completely supported and COMFORTABLE!

So, if you are interested in freeing your boobs… here are my top 5 independent bra makers.

  1. Organic Basics

Organic Basics was created in 2015 by four Danish guys who were tired of regularly buying, wearing, washing, and throwing away our overpriced big branded underwear. Thinking it was unsustainable, bad for the environment, and a big waste of time and money.  Designing the women’s range they kept the designs comfy, the colours simple, and only used GOTS certified organic cotton from the get-go. Later on in April 2017, they launched the antimicrobial women’s SilverTech collection of basics.  I have this bra, and pants set and I must admit I don’t even notice I’m wearing a bra, it’s that comfy.

I have a 20% off discount code too:  LITTLEGREENSHEDXOB20

2. The Nude Label

The Nude Label is an ethical underwear brand based in Valencia, Spain.  Born from a need of appealing yet comfy undies with a good fit and support for women’s everyday life.  An evocation to natural beauty throughout the use of soft materials for a second skin feeling.

3. Moons and Junes

You might remember the recent interview I had with the founder Agnete Bjerre-Madsen.  Moons and June are Copenhagen based lingerie brand devoted to providing an everyday luxury to women. They celebrate uniqueness through a devotion to help women feel beautiful and confident in their own skin.

Moons and Junes’ products aren’t just designed to look good; they’re catered for your body and your needs. Our intimates are constructed to accentuate your curves, so when you wear one of their pieces, you will feel that Moons and Junes adapts to your body – it’s not meant to work the other way around. The pieces in our collections are the result of thorough attention to detail and carefully selected high-quality materials.

4. Barelondon

Pretty lingerie for those who want a bit of lace.  Based in the UK, Barelondon also makes gorgeous hand block printed dresses too.

5. Base Range

Founded in 2012, Baserange is a line of modern basics with an emphasis on clean lines and easy silhouettes.  The company works closely with innovative vendors to develop high quality textiles from both natural fibres and recycled content.  Baserange believes that a commitment to clean production will minimise environmental impact and benefit both the producer and the user.
