Inspiration | September muses – Abundance…

Image via Pinterest by Luisa Brimble

This months inspiration post comes from a place of abundance. Harvest, purple figs, rosy apples and food cooked outdoors. Layered loose clothing, and feasts.

I’ve always loved autumn for that, preferring to have family ‘cook outs’ in September and right through to November.  There is something so wonderful about cozying up around a fire, and cooking a large stew or like I cooked last autumn, shakshuka on the beach.

I’d love to recreate that day, and plan further picnic / wild cooking adventures.  I have this book by one of my favourite Chef’s, Niklas Etstedt, a Swedish chef who cooks all his food over coals.  I was lucky enough to eat his amazing food at the Nordic food festival in London last autumn.  His whole roasted celeriac was amazing!

This autumn I am also loving loose, comfortable clothing.  No more tight fitting jeans for me, I want loose trousers, comfy sweatshirts and trainers – give me boy clothes any day!  I’m particularly loving this look above.  I’ve just bought this sweatshirt & lounge pants – yes I’m planning some serious lounging this autumn!

  • Autumn is my favourite season. I always look forward to the cozy atmosphere, rich harvest foods and nestling into my home a bit more. This autumn I am moving house, so that is definitely what I lookforward to most. My favourite recipe is the Hairy Bikers ‘Chestnut, roasted butternut squash and bramley apple soup’ on the BBC website. I have been making it every autumn for years now!
