Earlier this week, Dan and I took a rainy day trip to Cheltenham, Gloucestershire for some inspiration, content planning and a wander in the park.
Cheltenham is one of those places that I never think of visiting, I mean it’s only an hour away by car, not much further than Bath, but we never seem to go. But why not? It’s absolutely beautiful, and full of interesting cafes, independent shops and park lands.
Our trip happened to be a rainy old day, real fine drizzle, the kind of rain that makes everything sodden. Luckily for me I have a brilliant raincoat from the Swedish brand, Stutterheim. Rubber on the outside with a soft cotton lining, it can withstand the wettest of weather. Plus it is super stylish too. Hats off to those Swedes, they really know a thing or two about great raincoats.
I must admit this outfit is my new favourite. Comfortable, loose, simple and transitional. The jeans are from LabelMix, the designer section of Next. I’ve been after a pair of wide legged deep indigo jeans for a while, and had my eye on this pair from Toast. But, they were a little out of my price range. So when I spotted these, I snapped up a pair.
Now, I am a shortie, 5ft 2 to be exact. These jeans are meant to be worn cropped at the calf, but as I’m so short they skim my ankles, and I like that. They look good worn with my Veja trainers and lurex sparkly socks that I bought in Arket in Copenhagen.
Our trip to Cheltenham took us to Pittville park and the beautiful pump rooms. The parklands are gorgeous with an amazing kids playground, somewhere I’m bringing the boys to soon. Everywhere were signs of Autumn, leaves turning ochre and falling on the clipped grass.
Me, mid ‘gamming’ shot! The top I’m wearing is a indigo blue linen top from Toast, last year. But this one is very similar. I’m also wearing a beige coloured bandana, which I bought on eBay.
Finally, for those of you who asked about it via Instagram, my backpack/tote is from Millican. I use it for carrying my portable office: backpack, camera etc.
